The NT Seniors Card is part of an Australia wide initiative jointly supported by the Northern Territory Government and private enterprise.
The Scheme recognises the valuable contribution of older people to their local community and the Territory as a whole.
Each state and territory has a Seniors Card scheme and the eligibility criteria in each jurisdiction is 60 plus years of age.
The Seniors Card is issued free and provides access to savings on a range of goods and services provided by participating businesses.
In return for their support, businesses are given a FREE listing in either of the Seniors Card Business Directories.
The General Business Directory lists businesses providing discounts on such things as home maintenance, pet care and general retail. While, businesses offering discounts on accommodation, eating out and sporting activities are promoted in the Tourism and Leisure Directory.
Although it is at the discretion of individual businesses, most traders extend discounts to visiting Seniors Card holders.
Throughout Australia participating businesses proudly display the Seniors Card logo.
